Overview of the Year תשס"ז
2006-2007

As the school year comes to a close at Ohr David, we have the time to step back and share our thoughts and impressions of this past year with you.

ברוך ה'  this has been an extraordinary year for the Yeshiva; a year full of growth for both the yeshiva itself and the Talmidim.  Under the dynamic leadership of Rabbi Yosef Friedman the word of the uniqueness and professionalism of Ohr David has spread through the Yeshiva / Day School world.  This, in turn, enabled us to grow to sixty Talmidim from across the USA and other countries.  ברוך ה'   interest in the yeshiva for next year is keeping Rabbi Friedman busy meeting  boys and finding the perfect "Ohr David" talmid. 

Under the expert direction of Rabbi Shmuel Notis, shlit'a, we learned מסכת מכות   in the morning, and at our End of the Year Banquet sixteen Talmidim celebrated their Siyum.  Three of those Talmidim where tested on the מסכתא   by heart in it's entirety.

This year we have pioneered extra curricular programs of both music and "Krav Maga" (a type of self defense) on the campus.  This allowed the Talmidim a chance to relax at the end of a day of intensive learning without the need to leave the premises. 

Under the guidance of the Menahel Ruchni, Rav Yisochor Berry, the Yeshiva has also created a Rebbe Enrichment program, in which professional health specialists and educators gave special lectures to our Rabbeim.
