Former Lutheran Minister- Now Rabbi- visits Ohr David

As he has done in past years, Rabbi Asher Wade, former Lutheran Minister, joined us at a melave malka. Every year, Rabbi Wade tells over his story about how he and his wife discovered Judaism. To the amazement of the boys, the almost 2 and a half hour session flew by as if it were 15 minutes. His discovering Judaism is always a huge chizzuk for the guys and this time was no different.

This year however, we added chapter 2 to Rabbi Wade’s visit. Rabbi Wade is well known for his tours of Yad V’shem, the holocaust museum in Jerusalem. The boys themselves asked Rabbi Wade to take them on a tour that Tuesday. And what a tour it was!!!

Rabbi Wade, as only he can, gave a powerful tour and a whole new meaning into the Holocaust. The boys were stunned as they were put into the shoes of their ancestors just some 60 years ago. His message was “Z’chor”, Remember!! The holocaust is a meaningful subject for Rabbi Wade, being that it was from those memories that led him to find his place in Judaism.

JUST AN AMAZING WEEK OF CHIZZUK!!!
