By: Tevy Pilc
It's the one time all yeshiva bachurim eagerly anticipate.
It's that time of the
year where we can take a break from the strenuous amount of
learning we engage in and a time to kick back, enjoy each
others' company and bask in the beauty that is of course the
Holy Land: Eretz Yisrael. This amazing course of events of

Ohr David Visits "Discovery"
Well, the program is world famous, but
now it was Ohr David’s turn to “Discover”
what this “Torah thing” is anyway!! Our day at
Discovery started with an introduction by Rabbi Lipman Podolsky
and was followed by the first lecture entitled “The
seven wonders of the world”. It was really interesting
to hear the “funny” way in which “the one
who wrote the torah”, invented these commandments.

Agudath
Israel Visits Ohr David
Slightly ahead of the East Coast snowstorms,
they arrived in Yerushalayim for the fourth annual Agudath
Israel Yarchei Kallah program. Every year, religious businessmen
and professionals take time from work to learn for a week
in Israel as a show of solidarity. They participate in an
intensive program of shiurim delivered by prominent Rabbonim
and Maggidei Shiur. This year, as in the past, some participants
agreed to take part in a panel discussion in Yeshivat Ohr
David on the topic: “Being a Ben-Torah in the Workplace.”

Chanukah at Yeshivat
Ohr David
What a treat for Shabbos to start off Chanukah!!
At Ohr David, we took full advantage. It started with an in-shabbos
with Rabbi Hershoff. Friday night, everyone lit together in
the dining room. Davening
was led by Levi Kelman with a beautiful Lecha dodi. He used
many different Chanukah songs and the entire Yeshiva was dancing
at Bo’i V’eshalom. It was truly a beautiful way
to start off Chanukah. Following Lecha Dodi, Rabbi Hershoff
spoke about the beauty of having a Shabbos Chanukah in Yerushalayim,
and how shabbos is our greatest gift. read
