What do I do for Shabbos?

once a month there is a Shabbos in Yeshiva. in addition to this there is a Shabbaton to somewhere in Israel once a month. On the other two Shobbosim a students can visit family, friends, Rabbeim, or if the don't have a place to go they will be set up by the Yeshiva.

The entire world is under siege from the COVID-19 pandemic. All the while at Yeshiva Ohr David there are Talmidim who didn’t or were unable to leave the country for various reasons. We could not send them away, the Yeshiva is their home and we the faculty their family. I, unfortunately, had contracted a very mild case and B"H after a short time fully recovered and tested negative for any further infection.

Over Pesach, we provided all meals for the remaining Talmidim including the Seder, which the Talmidim held in the Yeshiva. These meals were catered and we incurred high expenses but we had no choice. These talmidim are our family. This is the first time since I am married (almost 47 years) that my wife and I were alone for the Seder. Over the years I always had my children and grandchildren and talmidim join me, but this year was different. But the Talmidim had to be provided for, no matter the monetary costs.

Since there are Talmidim on campus, the Yeshiva we will start learning again. Those Rebbeim who can make it will come. Talmud Torah is what has always protected Klal Yisrael through every hardship and we in Ohr David want to do our part. To help all of Klal Yisrael overcome these most challenging times.

But we can only succeed at this with help from you, our beloved alumni and valued donors, during these troubling times.

We will overcome this event as the Jewish people have done throughout the generations, with Talmud Torah and faith in Hashem.

The Zechus of Talmud Torah will help bring a Refuah for all of Klal Yisrael all over the world.

one step close to our ultimate redemption with the coming of Moshiach במהרה בימינו.
